Young Olympians (Birth Year 2008-09)

The NJ Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) will begin programming for its Young Olympians program (birth years 2008 and 2009) beginning in July and August. The Young Olympians Program, designed specifically for players born in 2008 and 2009, is an introductory stage for players who aspire to play at a high level and provides a path to participate in ODP. Players' abilities will be assessed, and the sessions will be segmented so that players are training with others of like ability. Sessions are hosted in three regions (south, shore/central and north) to facilitate participation throughout the state.

While the programs are customized for each age group, the Young Olympians Programs include three training sessions, a training camp and a festival featuring small-sided games. Pre-registration is required and the cost is $150. To ensure a proper training environment, registration for each Young Olympians (2008 and 2009) group will be limited to forty (40) players on a first come first served basis. If demand exceeds capacity, NJ Youth Soccer will create a waiting list and seek solutions for those individuals desiring to participate.

Once you login to your child's member account, please register for your child's age group/regional area. Please note that registration is for training sessions, and tryouts will not be conducted beforehand.

On the boy's side we have a partnership with the Red Bull Training Programs that started in 2014 and initiatives a partnership with the Philadelphia Union and will look to get coaches from both of those programs involved in select sessions. On the girl's side, we will look to get coaches from Sky Blue FC and the New York Red Bulls involved in select sessions.

Q. Will NJYS still run the Club NJYS program?
A. The Club NJYS program is being rebranded and will now be referenced as the Young Olympians Program. The intent is to better align with ODP, which is the next progression in the pathway for these players.
