Recreation Program Information

Player/Coach Recreation Registration: NJYS recreation programs are encouraged to utilize US Soccer Connect for registration. For questions and assistance onboarding, contact registration@njyouthsoccer.com. For Recreation Coach requirements see below.

For recreation programs not registering through US Soccer Connect, utilize the following. (registration information and payment can be done with either #1 or #2 below.

  1. Download registration form
  2. Online payment and registration form. (pay by credit card or e-check)
  3. Download Recreation Coach and player Excel data template.

Please use the template without changes. If the field is not used, please leave it blank and do not remove.

Recreation Coach Registration Requirements:

Ensuring player safety is one of the guiding principles of NJ Youth Soccer. We are committed to protecting the health, safety and security of all players, parents and coaches. Background screening, Safe Sport training, and concussion training are some of the important ways we do this.

Recreation Coach Registration process (if club utilizes US Soccer Connect/Stack Sports)

Click on the coaches registration link to apply for your coaches account.

  1. Register with the clubs Coaches link (US Soccer Connect/Stack Sports) for the current seasonal year. The fee is $15.00 per coach per season. If your club needs help setting up their coaches event for the current seasonal year email registration@njyouthsoccer.com. NOTE: Coaches must do their own registration.
  2. Take the Safe Sport Training Course (within the application)
  3. Take the Concussion Training Course (within the application)
  4. Documents required for upload to your registration are the Safe Sport Training Certificate under abuse prevention and concussion certificate.

Additional Notes:

  • Each season, recreation coaches will be required to authorize a background check during the registration process.
  • If a coach is rostered in multiple clubs, only one fee will be assessed ($15 per coach per season).
  • Contact Lindsey Nappi (lindsey@njyouthsoccer.com or 609-336-2022) with questions about the background checks.

Recreation Coach Registration process (if a club does not use US Soccer Connect/Stack Sports Clubs)

  1. Take the Safe Sport Training Course
  2. Take the Concussion Training Course
  3. Report Recreation Coaches via Recreation Excel Data Template in the player/ coach column specify coach instead of player. In the columns provided, verify coaches have met the background check requirements by marking "X" in the appropriate column.
  4. Submit your data template complete with players and coaches to recreation@njyouthsoccer.com along with:
  5. Completed "Certification of Criminal Background Screening Compliance for Recreational Youth Coaches"
  6. The name of their selected background screening company
  7. Background screening Contract Start and End Dates
  8. Contact Information and Name of Club Risk Management Contact

Additional Notes: Background checks will be required each seasonal year. Please note that your club may have additional requirements in addition to NJYS requirements.
