NJYS Member Recreation Leagues

New Jersey Youth Soccer is pleased to acknowledge the following leagues as official Member Recreation Leagues. This development provides new opportunities for the State Association and Member Recreation Leagues to enhance grassroots programming.

InterCounty Youth Soccer League

InterCounty Youth Soccer League (ICYSL) is a great example of how recreation soccer creates a fun environment for the kids to enjoy the game. ICYSL is a not-for-profit, recreational soccer program with roughly 200 teams in divisions from U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18. The league is a federation of town soccer clubs based in Middlesex, Somerset, Union, Essex and some clubs from Monmouth County. Membership is limited to Central New Jersey to reduce the travel required for games. ICYSL was founded as a way to allow children to continue to play soccer when there were not enough players within individual towns to form viable programs. ICYSL gives kids that don't want to or can't play travel soccer the opportunity to play against teams from other towns and experience the true tournament atmosphere.

Ocean County Recreation Soccer

Ocean County Recreation Soccer (OCRS) is a collection of clubs and townships throughout Ocean County. There is a range of 10-15 clubs that are involved, and league play has eclipsed 100 teams at times. The purpose of the OCRS is to create a place for players who are not ready for travel soccer, or for parents who cannot commit to a travel schedule. The league strives to keep soccer enjoyable for youth players who range in age from six to 16-years-old.

Rockaway Valley Soccer League

Rockaway Valley Soccer League (RVSL) is a recreational soccer league for six to 18-year-old players without flighting or standings. Servicing teams in both Morris and Warren County, the league has a range of 10 to 15 townships represented during its spring and fall seasons. The RVSL also encourages youth coaching and promotes youth referee training.

Suburban Youth Soccer League

Suburban Youth Soccer League NJ (SYSLNJ) was founded to provide a competitive, recreational soccer environment for member clubs and organizations and their constituents to develop, promote, and serve the soccer interests of their youth members (under the age of 19) through healthy amateur competition and educational programs. SYSL is comprised of member clubs from the suburban New Jersey footprint of Union, Middlesex, Essex, and Somerset counties, providing a supportive structure to foster development and recreation without abandoning the thrill of competition and thus provides a home for players at every skill level.
